(1) PLplot can be built with this version of java but the examples don't work, possibly due to my ignorance of how to use java.
(2) PLplot can be built with this version of octave, but the tests fail, so it is not clear whether or not you can actually use plplot with this version of octave.
(3) This should work if you can get LASi and all of its dependencies installed correctly. A package manager such as Fink is probably the best way to go.
